James "Jim" H. Fern - Principal Mr. Fern is a 1983 graduate of Emory & Henry College with a B. A. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and has earned his Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst designation. Mr. Fern is licensed to practice in the states of Virginia and Tennessee. He served as an auditor for five years before coming to work as an accountant for Thomas Hicok and earning his way to principal of the firm. In addition to taxation, Mr. Fern has twenty years of experience in non-profit and governmental accounting and auditing. He maintains an active role in the professional and local communities as well as with his family of two daughters and wife Kim. Mr. Fern implements daily the firm's goal of customer service and sets standards for other employees to strive for regarding personal communication with clients and co-workers.
